Peter Grieve, Student Journalist, University of Chicago
Grieve is a second-year at the University of Chicago studying political science. He is an editor of the news section of the independent student newspaper, The Chicago Maroon. He broke a major story on campus sexual assaults and another on fraternity hazing; a piece he wrote on trigger warnings drew international attention and was profiled by the Columbia Journalism Review. He’s filed FOIA requests for Chicago Police department case reports, but, as a reporter at a private university with a private police force, he also know what’s it’s like to cover institutions that are not subject to FOIA.
