Josh Burday is an attorney at Loevy & Loevy. He has worked on a wide variety of matters including Freedom of Information Act, Open Meetings Act and First Amendment cases as well as assorted business litigation. Josh has represented clients in various trial courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Josh has litigated well over a 100 state and federal FOIA and OMA cases, and among other results, secured the release of all fatal Chicago police-involved shooting videos from 2011 to 2016. Recently Josh represented activists in successfully forcing Chicago City Council to allow members of the public to attend and speak at City Council Meetings. The litigation is ongoing as the suit also seeks to have legislative votes taken at an improperly closed meeting declared null and void.
