Assia Boundaoui

Assia Boundaoui is an Algerian-American journalist and filmmaker based in Chicago. She has reported for the BBC, NPR ,PRI, Al Jazeera, Vice, CNN and was the recipient of a first-place Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for her reporting in Yemen. Assia’s short film on Muslim-women hair salons, for the HBO FILMS docu-series “Lenny,” premiered in 2018 as an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival.
